In John Wick: Chapter 4, Keanu Reeves wanted his character John Wick "definitively killed".
After avenging the High Table, John Wick appeared to die in the March blockbuster.
Wick closes his eyes and sees his late wife Helen after being shot on the Sacré-Coeur steps. The image eventually fades to black.
Due to the stress of production, Reeves wanted to say goodbye to Wick, according to producer Basil Iwanyk.
"After the second, third, and fourth movie, making these films is so exhausting and destroys Keanu, physically and emotionally," he told Collider.
"He constantly says, 'I can't do this again' in the end, and we agree. Due to his recklessness, he is a shell of himself."
"He said, 'I wanna be definitively killed at the end of this movie'."Reeves is known for his dedication to stunt work, which leaves him exhausted after filming.
Due to the franchise's popularity, the creators gave Wick "a 10% little opening" to return instead of a final death.
