Travis Hunter, a two-way standout for the University of Colorado, had to be rushed to the hospital for assessment during the third quarter of their game against Colorado State on Saturday night at Folsom Field.

Despite the comeback, the University of Colorado was able to pull out the victory against Colorado State.

During the second quarter of the game, on an incompletion at the Colorado sideline, Hunter took an illegal hit to his abdomen.

The school did not immediately reveal the reason why Hunter was called out of the game and sent to a hospital, but he did take the hit.

After the game, Coach Deion Sanders said that the “first thing I heard is that he’s going to be out a few weeks.” However, Sanders did not have any further information to share.

This season, Hunter had played practically every action for the Buffs, splitting time between wide receiver and cornerback for the offense and defense respectively.

Shilo Sanders, a defensive back, noted that the most unfortunate aspect of the team’s loss of Travis was that “it’s like you’re losing two players at once.” Walker's departure leaves the Bears just two players behind Fields on the roster:

When Hunter was hit during the play, the officials for the Rams called two fouls on their team.
