With the roster cut deadline gone and Week 1 underway, a slew of NFL players are officially beginning penalties for a variety of offenses.

In total, 20 players will be suspended when the 2023 season begins on Thursday, September 7.

The list, compiled by NFL Network's Tom Pelissero, contains a number of players who were previously known to be suspended.

A number of players on the list have been suspended for gambling, including Detroit Lions second-year wideout Jameson Williams.

Others, such football running back Alvin Kamara, escaped the league's recent wave of gambling penalties.

suspensions range from one game to the entire 17-game season. Some are suspended merely for games, while others are suspended for "weeks," meaning they cannot participate in practice.

Following his summer arrest, Titans running back and former Michigan standout Hassan Haskins has been placed on the Commissioner Exempt List.

The news comes after the ball carrier was placed on injured reserve, therefore terminating his 2023 season.
